Fire That Never Dies-- Dan Keeley Original

This is very first song I ever wrote. Part of this song was also part of my vows at my own wedding. Enjoy! THE FIRE THAT NEVER DIES Verse 1 A little boy says to his father, "Daddy how much do you love?" The father stopped, turned and looked at his little son He took him by the hand and led him to an old park bench Sat him down to talk a little one on one He said son, "Why do you ask? Do you doubt my love for you?" He said, "Daddy, I just wanna know" He looked him in the eye and almost then began to cry He said, "Son, I would never let you go." Chorus My love's like the water, always flowing never ending My care for you will never ever dry My hope for your future, is a hope that is secure 'Cause there is a fire in my heart that never dies Verse 2 Well that little boy grew older and a girl moved in next door He finally muscled up the heart to ask her out Sixteen months and there they were, at the front of that old church With the candles lit and saying their vows He lifted up her veil, he looked deep into her eyes He said, "Honey I just wanted you to know Back when I was young, my father's words were very strong I wanna say what Dad said long ago" CHORUS Bridge Just a few years later he was in that church again He fell upon the alter, looked above the stage and then He said, "Father, please forgive me, for I knew not what I did It was almost like a still small voice was sayin' to him CHORUS
