2 Men Arguing Before NYC Man Pushed on Subway Tracks Caught in Tape

The man's death has provoked fury from among some wondering why nobody, including a photographer who captured the man's final moments, pulled the victim to safety. The victim, identified as Ki Suk Han, 58, was thrown onto the tracks during a fight with a deranged man in a Manhattan subway station on Monday, the New York Post reported. Mr Han had approached a man who had been harassing and swearing at commuters and tried to calm him down, witnesses said. After being pushed onto the tracks by the man, Mr Han staggered to his feet and tried, but failed, to get out the way of a train, which killed him - in full view of a crowd of passengers. The suspect fled the subway station near Times Square but the New York Post reported a man was today being questioned about his possible involvement in the death. "It's one of those great tragedies, it's a blot on all of us," New York City Mayor Bloomberg said. "And if you could do anything to stop it, you would. But the good news is it happens phenomenally rarely." A group of bystanders at the station did attempt to alert the driver of the train to the man's presence on the tracks but it appears no one tried to pull the man to safety. One of those bystanders was a freelance photographer from who managed to take a series of photos, including the one occupying the whole front page of Tuesday's New York Post under the headline: "Pushed on the subway track, this man is about to die."
