| "The Diana Ross" of Mexican music tragically killed in a plane crash. Full Story: Mexican-American music superstar Jenni Rivera has died in a plane crash in Northern Mexico. Family, friends and fans gathered outside her mother's home in Lakewood, California to pay tribute. [Pedro Rivera Jr, Jenni Rivera's Brother]: "The Rivera family is devastated, we're sad." Rivera was the top-grossing female in Mexico based on ticket sales. She has sold more than 15 million records, and been awarded several awards and Grammy nominations. She was also a judge in the popular television program La Voz, Mexico's version of The Voice. [Brenda Hendrickson, Fan]: "I actually asked my husband for some tickets for her concert in Christmas, now I will never be able to see her." Rivera sung traditional norteno and band music, and was sometimes known as the "Diana Ross" of Mexican music. [Francisco Victor, Fan]: "She was from the neighborhood, like people said, she was very humble, like any other person, just like us, she was a star, but was very humble in her heart, a great human being." Rivera performed in Monterrey, Mexico on Saturday night. before setting off for Toluca, also in Mexico. The wrecked plane was found in northern Mexico on Sunday, and authorities confirmed there were no survivors.
