	Marva Whitney dies "It's my Thing" Singer passed away at 68| Funk Singer Marva Whitney RIP Rolling Stone reports that Marva Whitney, a collaborator of James Brown, passed away on Saturday (12/22). A post on Marva's facebook page reads: "We're saddened to inform you that Soulsister #1 Marva Whitney passed away last night. She left us with a legacy that will shine forever. Please keep her family in your payers." She suffered a stroke in 2009 and recovered but passed away from complications from pneumonia this past weekend.
