A woman has died and a man is fighting for his life after a two-vehicle accident in north-west Sydney, emergency services say.
One car crashed into a power pole and caught fire after the accident at Luxford Road, Lethbridge Park, about 12.55pm today, police said.
The woman died in the crash, but it was not yet clear which vehicle she was in and how old she was, police said.
Two men were hurt in the crash and were taken to hospital, police said, adding that one of them had "life-threatening injuries".
Superintendent Tom Cooper, of Fire and Rescue NSW, said firefighters doused a fire in one of the cars just after 1.10pm.
Earlier reports stated that an unknown number of people had been trapped in one of the vehicles, Superintendent Cooper said.
A report was being prepared for the coroner and police appealed for anyone with information to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
