	Lonmin live stream The National Assembly is holding a special debate on the Lonmin platinum mine tragedy today. This follows the shooting of striking Lonmin mineworkers by police on Thursday 16 august. Thirty four people were killed, 78 injured and 259 arrested. Earlier in the week, 10 other people were killed in violence on the mine. The debate will provide the National Assembly an opportunity to express, on behalf of the Nation, its condolences to the bereaved families and the injured mine workers. This follows requests for such a debate to NA Speaker, Mr Max Sisulu from, among others, the Minister of Police Mr Nathi Mthethwa, and various political parties in parliament.
