Mother, son killed in Watertown double homicide - San Francisco Chronicle

WATERTOWN, Conn. (AP) — Two people who allegedly sold a car belonging to a woman who was killed along with her son were being sought by police Monday for questioning in the deaths.

Donna Bouffard, 58, and her son, Michael Perkins, 26, had been dead between three and five days before their bodies were discovered on Saturday, Watertown Police Chief John Gavallas said during a Monday morning news conference.

Police found the bodies while investigating reports of a strong odor emanating from their house in the city's Oakville section.

Gavallas said police would not discuss the cause of the deaths until the completion of autopsies that were scheduled for Monday.

Police recovered Bouffard's 2007 Lincoln Town car in Norwich on Sunday night, using an electronic tracking system that had been installed on the car.

Two people who were found with the car were questioned and are not considered suspects, police said. They told authorities they had purchased the car from Claude Turner, 36 and Elizabeth Swiderski, 26, who had been living at the Bouffard home.

Turner and Swiderski were in possession of the car and sold it sometime after Bouffard and Perkins were killed and are wanted for questioning in the homicides, police said.

Both have criminal records that include convictions for larceny.
