NHK World News ---- Nippon Hōsō Kyōkai Description -- Syria's opposition forces say the government has intensified air strikes since a UN-mediated cease-fire ended in failure on Monday. A human rights group claims more than 500 people were killed during the 4-day cease-fire over the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha. Opposition forces say government fighter jets bombed at least 5 cities and their surrounding areas on Wednesday. They say the air strikes killed at least 10 people near the northern city of Aleppo. Anti-government activists outside Aleppo told NHK civilian casualties are growing. They say the air raids have increased since the cease-fire ended, and the bombs have grown more powerful.
