Natina Reed, who starred in the hit teen comedy "Bring It On"; as one of the "Clover" cheerleaders, was pronounced dead at 10:59 p.m., after being rushed to the Gwinnett Medical Center in Georgia on Friday, Oct. 26 according to a report from The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Oct 28. Natina was also a member of the R&B group called the "Blaque".
The news of the singer's death is currently said to be accidental. The Gwinnett Police Department released a statement to E! Online, Saturday, Oct. 27 stating that the driver involved in the accident hasn't been charged with any wrong doing. He is also the one who called 911 to get an ambulance to come to her aid immediately after impact. His call was recorded at 10:30 p.m. that she was hit. CPR was performed once the ambulance arrived and was being assisted all the way to the hospital where her death was pronounced just twenty-nine minutes later.
No one knows for sure why Natina Reed was standing in the roadway. They are still investigating whether she was walking alongside the road or trying to cross it. It is reported that the area where she was hit is poorly lit.
Reed's fellow band members reunited recently with intentions of recording a new album. Brandi Williams and Shamari Fears-De Voe shared their feelings in the following statement.
"We are devastated by the loss of our group member, sister and friend Natina Reed," they write. "Because of the enormous support of Blaque fans and our love for each another, Blaque officially reunited this fall and we were in the process of working on a new album and a reality show. Natina continuously embodied the pioneering spirit of Blaque and her undeniable creativity touched the hearts of fans everywhere. Natina was a mother, sister, accomplished songwriter, artist and friend. We ask for your prayers at this time for Natina's family. She will forever be missed and her global influence eternally felt. We thank God for the experiences we shared."
Natina would have turned 33 on Sunday, Oct. 28 and is survived by her 10-year-old son, Tren Brown. She will be missed and remembered by family, friends and fans forever!
