| Chris Kyle, the deadliest sniper in US History, and his friend Chad Littlefield were shot dead at a shooting range in Glen Rose, Texas on Sunday. Kyle was the author of "American Sniper", a best seller about Kyle's 150+ insurgent kills. Police have detained 25-year-old Eddie Ray Routh, a former Marine who was with the two men at the shooting range. According to local media reports, Routh's mother had contacted Kyle with the hope he would be able to help Routh deal with the post traumatic stress disorder he was suffering from. Kyle and Littlefield took Routh to the Rough Creek lodge shooting range around 3 pm on Sunday. Kyle and Littlefield's bodies were discovered a couple hours later with gunshot wounds that indicated they were shot at close range. According to authorities, Routh used one of the victims' black pickup truck to flee the scene.
