A man was found shot and died in an apartment building parking lot in Lakewood, Pierce County, early this morning.

Shortly before3:30 a.m., someone called 911 to say shots were fired at the Williamsburg Apartments in the 11200 block of Bridgeport Way Southwest, according to Lakewood police. The caller also said they saw a man dragging another man's body into the apartment building's parking lot.

When  officers arrived, they saw a man's body on the ground in the parking lot, police said. When they got closer to the body, a man brandishing a gun came running out of an apartment and went up to the body and yelled that he was going to kill the man on the ground. Officers told the man to drop the gun and get on the ground. He did  and was arrested.

Medics were called, but the victim, 29, died at the scene.

Police say that the suspect is a gang member from Chicago who apparently killed the victim after they got into an argument over whose gang was better. Shots were fired after the two got into a slapping match, where the victim was apparently winning.
