2 NYPD Officers Shot on Subway in Brooklyn GUNMAN Suspect Killed Two New York Police Department (NYPD) officers were shot by an armed man on the subway in Brooklyn, officials reported Thursday. The armed suspect was killed after a shooting exchange occurred between the officers and the man. The officers, Luka Kazicki and Michael Lavay, stopped the man after he was caught walking between subway cars while the train was in motion, Mayor Michael Bloomberg said at a press conference. Kazicki and Lavay were both in plain clothes. "The suspect acted as if he would comply but then pulled out a 9-mm Taurus and opened fire on the officers," Bloomberg said. One passenger was grazed by a bullet in the gun battle. The officers were taken to Lutheran Medical Center and are in stable condition. "Sometimes the good guys get shot, and sometimes they are killed," Bloomberg said. "Tonight, thank God, three good guys—three New York City police officers who acted heroically—are going to make it." | From: tmjrnews Views: 0 0 ratings | |
