RADIO IRISH pays tribute. Cardiologist Dr. Joseph Tenenbaum was by his side when he died at about 2 am Friday morning, 1st February 2013. His sister Pat was also with him at the hospital for several hours. Larger than life, with an enormous sense of humour and an equally as exuberant sense of duty to New York City and its residents, Ed Koch is remembered for many achievements as Mayor of New York City, including rescuing New York City from certain financial ruin during his years as mayor from 1978 to 1989.
