Elderly man shot to death, robbed on Far South Side

Police are looking for two robbers who shot and killed a 72-year-old man Saturday while he was on his way to dialysis treatment. March 2, 2013 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- Police are looking for two robbers who shot and killed a 72-year-old man Saturday. It happened about 3:30 am in the 400-block of East 95th Street on Chicago's Far South Side. Authorities say the victim, identified by family members as William Strickland, was standing in a gangway between two houses when two men walked up, robbed him and shot him multiple times. Chicago police did not immediatedly confirm the man's identity. Relatives said the man was in poor health and was waiting for a Pace ride to his dialysis treatment at the time of the attack. " I don't think he deserved this. The man was going to dialysis. He goes every Saturday morning. I think whoever did this was watching him," said Raymond Prichett, the victim's brother-in-law. Family members say Strickland was a retired steel mill worker whohad lived in the area with his wife, daughter and grandchildren for many years. Elderly man shot to death, robbed on Far South Side
