A Southern Colorado woman charged with first degree murder in the death of her husband waved her advisement of charges Tuesday afternoon. Originally, 50-year-old Janet Hilton was booked at the Criminal Justice Center for a stabbing charge. The charge worsened after Janet's husband died of his injuries in a hospital Monday. Colorado Springs police were sent to 1123 Server Drive in Colorado Springs in regards to a domestic violence-related stabbing. According to arrest affidavits obtained by 11 News, police walked into the house and found two women "bending over a male and holding a towel to the male's chest." The man, police say, is 70-year-old Daniel Hilton. The report says Janet was heard saying "I didn't mean to do it." The stabbing left Daniel with a punctured heart and torn artery. Before the stabbing, police showed up to the same home for a domestic disturbance. Daniel Hilton was bleeding from his left eye. His clothes and hands were stained in blood. Daniel told police he and his wife had been drinking, and it was his wife who attacked him. Janet Hilton was not originally arrested for this alleged attack because she disappeared before police showed up. When she came back, is when police say she stabbed her husband. The arrest affidavits were issued before Daniel Hilton died, Monday. Since his death, authorities have raised that stabbing charge to first degree murder. | From: ViolentWomenAmongUs Views: 1 0 ratings | |
