Like my Facebook page www.facebook.com Armed group attacks civilians in Syrian Akrab A group of armed militants attacked the city of Akrab in the north of Syria on Friday night. Some civilians have been killed, others captured. They first attacked guarded checkpoints, killing all military personnel there. They then headed for the city center. Around 60 civilians managed to escape. RT was able to meet up with some of them. "This is no life! I really longed to see the army enter the city and free us. All my relatives are in the center of the city captured by these people. What shall we do?" a woman said. Another woman described her experience: "First we all hid in one house, we were attacked, turned out into the street, put in one house. We were about 500. They kept us without food and water, and there were old people and children with us, after that they just shot at us." Some civilians believe the armed men are from al-Nusra Front, an al-Qaeda affiliate. "My name is Ussef Aldjahen, I am from Akrab, this is my family. Lots of people have left the city. We were attacked by armed people from al-Nusra Front. They were wearing bands on their foreheads saying Saraya al-Maot, it was also written on their cars. They occupied civilians' houses."
