Three people were being questioned by police for the murder of a 19-year-old man, shot to death early Saturday along a trendy strip of bars in the Wicker Park neighborhood.
Miguel Delgado died minutes after he was shot in the head across the street from Nick's Beer Garden, in the 1500 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, shortly after closing time, authorities said.
A man who was standing outside a bar when he witnessed the shooting said he saw two people approach Delgado, who was on the other side of the street, about 2:20 a.m. Then he heard three gunshots.
Police in the area also heard the gunshots and rushed to the scene. When they arrived, they found Delgado, of the 2500 block of North Kildare Avenue, dead in the street, police New Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.
Three people were being questioned in connection with the shooting, though as of Saturday evening charges had not been filed.
The attack happened about a block east of the neighborhood's namesake park, where a shooting on Sept. 7 killed 34-year-old Emmanuel Bass and critically wounded another man.
Area North detectives are investigating.
