Man who allegedly killed three had threatened one of the victims before - CBS 21

UPDATE:

We're learning new information Monday evening in the Franklin County triple homicide.

The father of one of the victims says the suspect has threatened his son before and police said there was nothing they could do.

Police say Kevin Cleeves shot and killed his estranged wife, Brandi Cleeves, her boyfriend Vincent Santucci and Santucci's mother, Rosemary Holma.

Vincent's father says his son has received threatening text messages from Cleeves over the past month.

Friday night following the shooting, police say Cleeves ran off with his four-year-old daughter. He was captured in Ohio.

Monday he was in court where he waived his extradition hearing.

"In this case he agreed to return voluntarily to Pennsylvania," stated Mahoning County Prosecutor Mike Thompson. "Which means our sheriff will contact their sheriff. Their sheriff, the Franklin County, Pennsylvania sheriff, will make the arrangements to transport him from our jail to their jail. At which point he's theirs."

A man accused of killing his wife and two others and taking off to Ohio is set to return to Pennsylvania.

Kevin Cleeves waived his extradition in Ohio and now will be brought back to Pennsylvania to face charges for allegedly killing three people.

35-year-old Kevin Cleeves, of Waynesboro, had an extradition hearing in Ohio Monday afternoon. Cleeves was tracked to that area by police after they say he shot and killed his estranged wife Brandi Cleeves, her boyfriend Vincent Santucci and Santucci's mother Rosemary Holma.

The shootings happened in a driveway in Quincy Township, all while Cleeves' four-year-old daughter was sitting in the backseat of the car belonging to her mother's boyfriend.

Police reports say Cleeves told them he had made multiple attempts to contact his wife to make sure their daughter was safe and then when he didn't hear from her, he went to Santucci's home where an argument broke out before the shootings.

Cleeves says he then took his daughter and headed for a relative's home in Michigan but was arrested along the way.

CBS 21 News spoke to a representative of Martin's Famous Pastry Shop where Kevin Cleeves worked as a technician for the company's delivery drivers. We were told employees there are shocked by what happened and that chaplains were on hand to provide grief counseling.

Martin's has set up a trust fund to pay for the medical and educational needs of Cleeves' daughter until she turns 18. Anyone can contribute to that fund by contacting F&M Bank.
