Local media report that at least 24 people mostly Pashtuns have been killed in an ongoing wave of violence over two days in Pakistan's biggest city, Karachi. Angry protestors torched an empty bus on Tuesday night after a political worker was killed in the central part of the city. Many of the victims, killed by gunmen on Monday and Tuesday, were connected to political and religious groups. Fourteen people, including seven political workers, were killed in separate acts of target killing and violence on Tuesday alone. Karachi has a long history of violence among its population of more than 18 million. Ethnic, religious and sectarian disputes, and political rows can often explode into battles engulfing entire neighborhoods. | From: TheAbdaliBacha Views: 0 0 ratings | |
