Eight killed in Spain flash floods

Eight killed in Spain flash floods A trail of devastation in southern Spain as flash floods caused by torrential rain sweep through the region, leaving at least eight dead. Hundreds were evacuated in Andalucia and here in Murcia after floodwaters tore through streets and homes, bringing down a bridge and sweeping away cars. A young boy and girl found drowned in a car are reportedly among the dead. Four of the victims were in the coastal provinces of Malaga and Almeria - both popular tourist destinations. At least two motorways have been closed and some public transport diverted, with one flight to Malaga redirected to Seville. The heavy rains, which started early on Friday, come after months of drought and soaring temperatures triggered thousands of wildfires all over Spain.
