Ferry Sinks Off Coast of Sumatra, Indonesia : 8 Killed, 200 Rescued

eight people were killed Wednesday when a ferry sank after colliding with a cargo ship off the coast of Indonesia's Sumatra island, an official said. The ferry was travelling from Merak port on the western tip of Java to Bakauheni port on Sumatra when the accident happened, Transportation Ministry spokesman Bambang Ervan said. About 200 people were rescued, he said.
