Shock Video: Pilot killed during air show stunt

DAVENPORT, IA (WQAD/CNN) - Patrons at an air show watched a fatal accident unfold before their eyes when a stunt pilot lost control of his aircraft and crashed into the ground. An official at the Quad City Air Show in Davenport, IA said the pilot was making a 45-degree bank and was unable to come out of it. Emergency vehicles raced to the scene, however they were unable to save the pilot. Officials said the pilot did not have enough time to safely eject from the aircraft. Planes returned to the air at the show about an hour after the crash, with "Taps" played as some aircraft flew over the crowd. Copyright 2012 WQAD via CNN. All rights reserved.
