Local reports said that 69 year old Griselda Blanco, a convicted drug trafficker, was gunned down by two assassins on motorcycles as she left a butcher shop with her pregnant daughter in law who reportedly escaped unharmed. Blanco was a pioneer in exporting cocaine to the United States in the 1970s and 80s with a route from her home city to Miami even before notorious traffickers like Pablo Escobar.
