Gunman opens fire at World Changers Church Int'l (Creflo Dollar's Megachurch) As details are still developing, a gunman fired shots inside a chapel of World Changers Church International just before 10:00 am on Wednesday, October 24, 2012. Reverend Creflo Dollar is the founder and leader of World Changers and was not present at the time of the shooting. The Georgia mega church, which has an estimated 30000 followers, in located in College Park, a suburb south of Atlanta. A 39 year old male volunteer leading a prayer service at the megachurch was shot and killed by the gunman. About 20 to 25 people were gathered at the church on Wednesday morning when the shooting occurred. Authorities are searching for a former church employee suspected in the shooting. The suspect is identified as 52 year old Floyd Palmer, a former facilities maintenance employee at the church. He had resigned from his job at the church in August for "personal reasons." According to authorities, the suspect calmly walked in the church and opened fired and left calmly. No other people were wounded as the gunman fled. Authorities are also looking into a possible motive to determine whether the suspect and the victim knew each other because he was the only person shot. The victim was taken to an area hospital where he died. The victim's name is Greg McDowell. Authorities captured the suspect Floyd Palmer late this afternoon and he is currently in police custody.
