Chula Vista police department is handling the investigation and expects to release more information on the shooting Tuesday, Capt. Gary wedge said. MONIQUE CAN REST IN PEACE ONLY IF WE DO NOT. WE MUST EXERCISE ALL LEGAL MEANS TO DEMAND JUSTICE. DEMAND THE TRUTH. For the truth and facts to be released in today's statement from Chula Vista Police, they have to talk to the witnesses. They have to ask the right questions. Has this been accomplished? I personally haven't seen the basic conditions for a normal or fair investigation. CHULA VISTA -- The family of a Chula Vista mother of five who was shot and killed by a US Border Patrol agent demanded answers Monday at a candlelight vigil. 32-year-old Valeria Munique Tachiquin, also known by her married name Valeria Alvarado, was shot in her car Friday in the 600 block of Moss Street. Federal authorities say Tachiquin intentionally rammed a plain clothes officer with her vehicle, trapping the agent in the windshield, and carrying the man "several hundred yards." The agent fired several shots through the windshield to get the woman to stop, US Customs and Border Patrol Deputy Chief Rodney Scott said Friday. At least two witnesses told San Diego 6 the agent shot and killed Tachiquin while walking towards the car, which was backing away from the agent at the time. "All we ask for is justice.
