Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi addressed the nation on Thursday evening calling for the violence to stop and accusing foreign-funded opposition of destabilizing the situation in the country. The speech failed to achieve its desired result, as people refused to leave Cairo's streets and continued the anti-Morsi rallies. Several thousand protesters stormed the Muslim Brotherhood headquarters and set the building on fire. The clashes between supporters and opponents of Morsi erupted on Tuesday in Egypt's capital. Local media report at least six people killed and several hundred injured. The protests began when Morsi signed a decree last month expanding his powers.
