Lebanon's Tripoli: Scene of another proxy war?

At least one person has been killed and six others have been injured as fresh clashes break out between supporters and opponents of the Syrian government in the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli. Although the violence in Tripoli is linked to the current conflict in Syria, some people in the city blame the Lebanese government for the continuation of the fighting. Tripoli has been the scene of similar clashes between the two groups over the past months. Several people have been killed and injured in the clashes and the fighting has forced residents to leave the volatile neighborhoods. Have the reports of smuggling arms from Lebanon into Syria show that there are groups inside Lebanon which have influenced the fighting in Syria by giving assistance to the Syrian armed rebels?
