Alabama Bus Driver Killed & Child Abducted By Suspected Gunman

UPDATE: Situation has not ended; Suspect has not been arrested nor has the hostage been released. TIME TABLE: 3:36 PM CST - Now 65 year old Jimmy Lee Dykes forced his way onto a school bus after being refused to have a student removed. Dykes then produced a handgun and shot the bus driver several times in the chest and abducted a six year old child. The suspect took the child in an area behind the Destiny Church. Police have not been successful in negotiating the release of the hostage or the surrender of Dykes. In an update by ABC3340, they say that the bus driver was pronounced dead at the scene and that Dykes was arrested on December 22nd, 2012 for pulling a gun on another man. Due to the incident, schools in Dale County and Ozark City have been ordered to shutdown on Wednesday. www.abc3340.com
