A 5-year-old boy was killed when a bus crashed into his house on Long Island, according to the Hempstead Police Department. Police said the N70 Nassau Inter-County Express bus crashed into the house on East Fulton Avenue and Nassau Road in Hempstead around 9:45 pm Tuesday after trying to avoid hitting a pedestrian. The boy, who has not been identified, was inside the house in a front room and became pinned under the bus when it crashed. He later died at an area hospital. Officials report at least 15 passengers were on the bus when the accident occurred. A spokesperson for NICE said the company "is cooperating with police officials, and has its own team investigating the incident."
