Former Seahawks center Grant Feasel Dies

Grant Feasel, a center for the Seahawks from 1987 to 1992, died at 52 Sunday in Fort Worth, TX. Cause of death was not reported. Feasel played in Seattle from 1987 to 1992, starting every game in 1989 and 1990 and all 15 he played in 1991. He played in 117 games over eight seasons for four NFL teams. A sixth-round choice by Baltimore out of Abilene Christian, he played 11 games as a Colts rookie. After stints for Minnesota and Indianapolis, he was out of the NFL for two years before joining the Seahawks for the final five seasons of the Chuck Knox coaching era, and the first year under Tom Flores. A genial sort off the field, Feasel was stout in his defense of his teammates, earning the nickname, "Fightin' Feasel," for his numerous scraps. A service for Feasel is scheduled Friday at Legacy Church of Christ in North Richland Hills, TX.
