Three killed, two wounded in Swiss shooting Daillon

A gunman has killed three people and wounded two others in the Swiss village of Daillon, according to police. Police said three victims died at the scene and two more were wounded and hospitalised late Wednesday (local time). They did not identify the killer, who was also hospitalised after being wounded by police during his arrest. According to a statement, police headquarters were informed that a gunman was shooting at residents in Daillon, where reportedly "several injured people [were] lying on the ground". Valais police and special units "immediately intervened and neutralised the suspect", the statement added. Cantonal police spokesman Jean-Marie Bornet said the police came under threat, wounding the suspect. None of the police were hurt, but the public prosecutor of Valais went to the scene and an inquiry has been opened.
