Typhoon Bopha Kills Over 200 People In Southern Philippines

UPDATE: Death has now risen to over 270. UPDATE: According to ABS-CBN News, the death toll is at 238. Among the dead, one soldier of the Armed Forces of the Philippines was killed during a rescue operation. 6 others of the same unit were said to be missing and 3 others were injured. A very powerful Typhoon Bopha (Pablo) swept over the southern Philippines island of Mindanao, killing over 200 people, injuring hundreds of others and while many more are missing. Most of the deaths came from Compostela Valley with at least 151 people dead. New Bataan saw at least 66 dead, including soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines when two of the evacuee shelters were washed away by the floods.
