The Lamar Canyon wolves of Yellowstone National Park howl on a hillside overlooking the Lamar River after the leader, mother and mate was shot and killed by a Wyoming hunter on December 5, 2012. The alpha female of this pack was known as 832F to researchers, "06" to those who loved her and "Rock Star" to the world. She was the most famous wolf in the world, having delighted many a park visitor. She was six years old. The pack returned to the park on December 10 and this howling was captured late the following afternoon after a day spent on an bull elk carcass. One man's bullet took her from us and from her family. This slideshow is about the sound, images were taken during the howl and as they trekked down to the river, in tough conditions and are not meant to be anything but a story. | From: Deby Dixon Views: 1 0 ratings | |
