On the 11th anniversary of the start of the war in Afghanistan, killed Afghan civilians and British soldiers are remembered at a Naming of the Dead ceremony in London. The "Stop the War" coalition held a Naming of the Dead ceremony on Trafalgar Square in London on Sunday to commemorate killed Afghan civilians and British soldiers. The ceremony marked the 11th anniversary of the start of the war in Afghanistan. The anti-war activists demanded that the British government end its involvement in the war and bring its troops back by Christmas. British MP Paul Flynn, who was expelled from the House of Commons for voicing his opposition to the war in Afghanistan, took part in the event. "There's probably half a million people killed in the Iraq and Afghan wars, they are unnamed, they are uncounted. And it is a disgrace that we don't take this into account. They've died as a result of decisions taken in the British parliament and other Western parliaments. And we should give a prominent place to working out the true cost of war", said Flynn. Members of military families, who signed a letter to the prime minister asking him to bring the British troops back home by Christmas, also attended the ceremony.
